Yesterday we had a customer of the type who likes to engage the staff rather than browse silently. He immediately began asking questions without noticing his surroundings, but quickly then took in his environment and had a sense of humor about asking for what was right in front of him.
He was looking for the art section and, in particular, any books on Rembrant or da Vinci. He had noticed the art section was right in front of him as he spoke, but he still clearly did not want to search alone. So I pulled out a book on Rembrant and one on da Vinci and he was thrilled with both, talked on and on about seeing the Rembrant now at the SAM and bought both books.
Somehow we managed to fill all his needs, which I know is just chance and therefore worthy of note.
